The plant shown in the first picture is a corn plant. I've never seen a seed pod on these plants. I do know they bloom and are really strongly scented. Neither of the ones I owned ever bloomed, but some of the huge ones we had at work did and they were obnoxious to those with allergy issues.

The pods form another plant, Where ever it hits the dirt another plant will form...that is one way these lilies spread so fast.

Hi! I have NEVER seen a pod growing on my corn plant and I have had it for many, many years! Wondering if there is like a male/female corn plant? I do know these plants are very good inside and out, they are pretty hardy little plants!

Some are saying this is a lily. But it still looks like a Dracena (corn plant) to me. So, to be honest, I'm really not sure because I've never seen a pod like this on a Dracena.

Looks like a corn plant to me. I have one I have cut down about 5 times over the last 13 years and it just keeps coming back. But it has never grown pods or bloomed.

@ @Fran I have one of these in my yard, too, but it has never bloomed, but it is suppose to have a large white bloom but mine hasn't bloomed in the two years I have had it. The person who gave it to me showed me the one she had but she didn't know a name for it.

@Dorene H Like any other seed they need to dry first in order to germinate if there is a seed in all that pulp I dont see why not
