They do sell appliance paint. If you are patient, get a few different size paint brushes or foam applicators and feather finish it in to blend with existing paint.
Yup they do sell appliance paint, I would lightly sand wherever the chipped paint is and make absolutely certain no other places on the refrigerator will chip any more before painting over the entire thing.
I use this appliance paint found in the Walmart paint dept for a multitude of restoration and repair needs. Its nice and thick and its in a nail polish type brush- bottle.
I saw a refrigerator online that was covered with Contact Paper and it looked great. Contact paper is temporary, but stays on until you remove it and comes in lots of colors, patterns, and even a stainless steel - if you want that look. It is also very inexpensive. Here is a an example.
