Steam it off. Anytime you remove wallpaper there is a chance of damage, but it is easily repaired before priming and painting.

What works best for me, is (I swear) a square-ended plastic pancake turner. I wasted $20 at Lowes for a chemical and a 'scraper' that is worthless. The paper has to come off in two layers, the top is peeled, and the bottom one soaked with soapy water (or Downy) gives way much easier, it will go much faster than the top. The pancake turner handle gives me reach all the way to the ceiling, and the angle is just right for the scraping, and the square end is good for corners. There is still some damage here and there, but I have gotten my mud skills down with the practice.

Spray with fabric softener mixed 1/4 FS to 3/4 water start with warm water, Best if remove top layer of wallpaper but can use on top layer 1st ADD A LOT OF PATients. Use a PUTTY knife 2 inch and 4-6 inch

I got one of those "thingies" that I ran over the paper that made holes all over it like a bunch of needle holes. sprayed water on it, waited, started to take off, waited if it wasn't ready. I started from bottom also and just a flat spatula. You just have to be careful about "gouging" at it and don't leave it forever with water on it.

Dip a sponge into hot vinegar and water. Before you know it, the wallpaper will peel right off.

This is a difficult one if the paper has been painted. Bound to be damage caused, but I think I would go with Steamer.
