How do you remove wallpaper from paneling?
Years ago we covered wood paneling with wallpaper, now the wallpaper is drying up and we do not know if we can remove it or paint over it.
Scoring and steaming has always worked best for me.

There are many methods, they all work, just depends on what you find the easiest.
Mix fabric softener and warm water 50/50 in a spray bottle. Saturate with mixture to help dissolve the adhesive. Bonus: the room smells like fresh laundry. Be careful with a scoring tool, they can damage the walls underneath. Use a plastic edge to help scrape the paper off.

I found removing the wallpaper to be time consuming and ended up using a tool that scores the paper and a wallpaper remover in a spray bottle. I let it sit for 10 minutes or so and then sraped it off. This tore the drywall paper but I followed the YouTube at the link below and after painting, it looks like a new wall. I highly recommend it if you tear any of the drywall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HqAciM4_Ec
a mixture of warm water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray area let it soak up then scrape. do this in small sections so it gets throughly soaked. Use a large putty knife to peal off. If the wall paper is vinyl you will need to use a grater to scratch walls so water can soak in.
scoring and steam. I have removed miles of wallpaper with this method. I use a 35 dollar clothes steamer from walmart.
The sprays do not work as well as steam. It all requires some (a ton) of patience. Good Luck, retain your sanity!
