  • Ha! I had the same problem! My cheap house did not have lights in any of the closets. In order for me to avoid this problem, I rearranged my clothes by color. I hung black items then cream items, then blues, then whites, and so on, in each section. Blouses and tops, slacks, etc. I also have my sweaters stored the same way so there is no mix up.

Hello Dgreen; I personally keep a small flashlight, one of those(Military) super bright heavy ones in my closet.

I use it to shine on clothing that looks the same.

The bonus is, when I travel it goes with me!!!

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

Try labeling the clothing with a color code, or label or color code the hangers. Did not answer the question, but solves the problem!

I had the same problem. I found some sensor lights, battery operated (QVC). Every time I open the closet door they come on, gradually fade . If you move it keeps them on till done..

Get LED string lights and put them all along the inside opening so ALL of your clothes are lit from top to bottom. Good luck!
