Ceiling fan pull chain is hard to pull when trying to adjust speed.

sctually I think the globe may be hampering it. I would suggest getting a ladder and climb up and see if the globe needs to be turned a tad
Yes!
You can use wd-40 or a tube of powdered graphite.
Spray WD40 where the chain goes into the switch. This will also loosen the internal switch mechanism.
Be careful, ours did that and the switch was going bad.
