I can't figure out why my light bulbs get loose!
A few light fixtures in my house will sometimes go out, but when I tighten the bulbs they work again. Any idea why the bulbs would get loose?
Needlenose pliers! Turn off breaker supplying power to that circuit, use one tang of the needlenose pliers to get behind the pliable metal ring of bulb and bend inward to get a grip with pliers. Twist out, oila! Personally, I don't bother with shutting off circuit, as long as your pliers has insulated handles, you're safe. Just threw that disclaimer in there.
turn off the electric. Cut a potato in half and press into the broken bulb and twist. It's a pretty successful hint.
Try a potato, Dena.
Make sure the electricity is turned off then grasp the side of the metal part of the bulb that is in the socket with a needle nosed plier and twist it out.
Shut off power to the fixture and I use needle nose pliers . Key is to make sure there is no power to the bulb.
Cut a potato in half and push it into the broken edges, then unscrew.
