Call a local lighting store, not big box, and see if they can do it for you. It needs to be done right, not a diy. If they don' t do it they may know an electrian who does.
Go to your local home improvement store. They sell extra chain and electrical cord. Be sure you know how much added length you want. Then you just need some pliers to open one end to attach to the new. If you add length, be sure the spot you've connected does not receive any stress or pull. Your best bet would be to rewire the length to what you want it to be rather than add.
