Is the House New Built - Call the Builders back to check the wiring! or New to you? - get an electrician to check out the wiring! Is shredder New purchase - Take it back to store! or New to you - Check out the wiring? Check Fuse size in plugs maybe to low a fuse?

first, try a different circuit. if it trips then original circuit is safe. my shredder needs to be run backwards to clear out old jambs etc.

shredders should be lubricated along the full opening. if all fails, replacement with new warranty is probably similar cost to paying for repairs to the one you have. choose 'cross shredder' or similar, not just strip shredder. pay as much as you can afford to purchase one that cuts multiple pages at the same time. copies.

Try another circuit. If that also fails, contact the manufacturer or where you bought it for a trade. If the new one trips the breaker - it may be your breaker. If this is a new house, it should be under builders warranty.

Try moving to another plug, or put on a strip plug where it will blow the fuse instead of the house circuit.

The circuit is overloaded. Unplug them one by one till you find which one is pulling the most load and trips the breaker as you are using the shredder.
