How do I repair water damage to my wood dining table?

While pouring boiling water out of my tea kettle, I spilled some on my wooden dinning room table. Now it is discolored with gray spots. How can I restore the varnish that was on it?
Place a cloth over the water stain. An iron set to medium and iron over the cloth. Check progress as you iron.
They do sell furniture stain pens that you could try on the table, too. But the stain doesn’t last permanently.

What about restoring the shine on some small spots where nail polish remover got spilled?

use toothpaste and ash rub in. Then polish. Another answers.. Restorafinish.mthis comes in different colors; but is awesome product. Just be sure to let sit on furniture. Then I use microfiber cloth and really polish off well.
