How do I straighten a wooden board & dowel rod?

The dowel rod is slightly bent & the board is rather warped. All made from a hard wood. Can soaking & steaming work?

This is a very difficult thing to do. I restored a antique dresser recently and I used a clothes steamer to try and straighten the wood. It did work to a certain degree. Can you post an image so we can have a better idea of what you are trying to do. So we can better Advice. This is the job I did where I used a steamer to try and straighten my wood.

I have straitened boards by laying a wet towel on them and then adding weight to the top. all you have to do is wait until it is straight. Will take a few days
