Hi Jo, with old furniture I find a good layer of potroleum jelly helps a lot. If you're building new you can buy drawer slides and then build the drawers to fit them -

if the drawer is sticking...use wax...the stuff usually found on homemade jelly..parifin it’s a softer wax, non sticky and transfers well to wood. If you are asking about the hardware to support a drawer there are many options at the hardware store.I prefer the ones that will open far enough that I can see the back of the drawer. Those can be screwed in place quite readily. -

My mother used to use old candles stubs on the runners or runner areas. Good luck! JH -

rub wax (a candle) on both surfaces that come on contact with each other.
