How do you recover the leg portion of a recliner?
My cat stays at the bottom of the recliner. It has drool stains and the usual wear and tear. Upholstery cleaners have done very little. Any suggestions are appreciated.
It's a Lazyboy, swivel rocking recliner. THANKS

Maybe you can recover the foot part of it in a contrasting fabric and a pillow to tie it together. Then Scotch Guard it.
Hi Maggie. I used fusible iron-on tape to recover a chair and it's held up great over the years. You could and a similar fabric and recover the leg portion with this technique. Here's how: https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2015/07/custom-upholstered-chair-easy-diy.html
I used the same technique to patch a couch: https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2018/03/how-to-repair-a-torn-sofa.html

If the chair is sound and comfortable, you can always chalk paint it, changes up the texture a bit and the cat may no longer favor it, as was my case. I couldn’t get my chair clean, so ... I painted and polished it. Now it looks new and my other furniture looks old.
My Mom used a face towel and safety pins to fix hers. You wrap the towel around the leg rest and pin it tightly on the under side. Mine is now fixed the same way. And when it gets dirty I wash the towel with my others.
