Julies1949 on Jan 10, 2016A french cleat should work. There has to be a wooden frame to which the seagrass is attached. If there is, you can attach the french cleat only on the sides right where the wings join. No need to drill through the center section.Helpful Reply

Rena Noele on Jan 11, 2016julies1949 and you are so right that the french cleat method is the most secure way. That's how hotels hang their headboards. Just in case your husband isn't excited about that method, a little extra wood at the base, could customize a bolted connection to the metal bed frame.Helpful Reply

Wanda.ll on Jan 11, 2016We had the same problem. Hubby attached a 1x6 flat to the headboard at the bottom even with the places on bed frame where there are holes and used nuts and bolts to secure then attached to the bed frame.Helpful Reply

MaryAnn Winkelwoman on Jan 11, 2016Use wood planks to make horizontal legs. This will hold the headboard and you can put it wherever you want.Helpful Reply
