Can you be more pacific, what are you wanting to disguise? What or where is the cover up?
A simple slipcover would improve the appearance.
It’s a small piece that you could easily recover with new fabric and a good staple gun.
I bought an ugly pleather ottoman for 2.00. I had a slipcover sewn out of a dropcloth.

Paint it with water based acrylic paint, then stencil a lovely design on top and voila.
