My favorite DYI repair - craft closet item is the epoxy putty stick. I get it at my local Lowes for a little over six dollars. It will plug up holes and repair many things. I sucessfully plugged the hole in a tub laundry sink with it it was totally waterproof![]()

Flex Seal seals out water, air and moisture and helps prevent rust and corrosion. You could use it on the underside of the bird bath -
