I have had rain coming in my back doors for years and tried everything - the cause was the rain hitting and bouncing back toward the door - the BEST money I've ever spent was putting a canopy up - NONE - NONE comes in now at all
Did you buy a canopy or create one? I've wondered about that idea. Thank you.
I would add a rain chain in that location just under the soffit and one of those granite gutter extenders.... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DKIL9I/ref=asc_df_B001DKIL9I5132965/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B001DKIL9I&linkCode=df0&hvadid=193154321880&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3168930301265092059&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033057&hvtargid=pla-309744474466
You can also have a handyman detach that section of gutter and slope it towards one end of the house or other so it moves down the gutter faster. I did this and it made all the difference in the world to prevent pooling water next to my foundation next to the porch. You could also replace the gutter with a deeper section to hold more water too. Visit your True Value.
And I would add weather stripping to door.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBMJvC9TZ3A
If you don't have a storm door, I would get one.
Maybe a 25 gallon trash can even if you have to use bricks to extend the step area. 😇
Maxie, if you cut a piece of metal, in a triangle form, an tar this to the corner, for protection, this will truly help. This was done professionally for us, and we love it. Just measure the size you desire, and do so. You will be so thrilled as to how this turns out. Best wishes, J.
Judy, did you put this triangle at the bottom of the door or above the door?
