How to fix a cracked skylight
My skylight has 2 layers. The outer layer (weather side) is cracked in the corner about 8 inches edge to edge. Can it be repaired in-place or will it need to be replaced which will mean removing roof tiles to get to it. I assume it is plastic.

These are acrylic. Depending on the size, a new bubble is about $100. It is designed to slip in place in the existing frame (depending on Mfg). You can try some Eterna Bond tape. We've used it before as a temporary repair. Not pretty, but better than a surprise visit from a hail storm
Mja Hi,. I'm sure the right caulk could solve this problem. Check with Home Depot for the caulk. Go to the courtsey, and tell them what you want, they'll direct you to the right department. Aloha!
Many skylights are double panes, and many are versions of plastic, not glass (at least all of mine are). Sometimes just the broken panel can be replaced, sometimes the whole unit needs replacing.
If it is a bad crack or hole, you could caulk or cover with plastic taped over it until it can be repaired.
Many skylights develop cracks and are still water tight for years. See if you can see a manufacturer name on the window corner or frame and call them.
Usually need to replace it will leak
