How do you close these pretty draps? Both together or each seperatly. I like the cornice also. Is this cornice done professionaly or did you make it and covered the cornice. Well done, pat yourself on the back! I have plastic slats to open and close on the patio door. The slats are breaking up on the top from the hook that holds them on. Do I measure for drapes and need three times the width insulated drapes? Thank You for your help...

This is what I currently have, but I don't like the heart shelf. Lol it will go, when we do a kitchen renovatio! Patio doors are off of our dining area.

I have the blinds too on my slider. All I did was go to a place that sold the real long box type rods.Bought some cheap curtains from Giant Tiger with the large O rings. The added benefit is the curtains are the thermals!

I have been contemplating the same thing, only because mine are getting older and a bit discolored. Mine are fabric so I was thinking of just covering them with fabric but wasn't sure how that would look or work. I was just wanting something more decorative I guess. So will be paying attention to suggestions here.

The individual slats are probably on little chained clips. Take the slats down, you can fold a slim piece of plastic (test the thickness on the clips) into the edge of curtain fabric or whatever you want to use (or run it through the hem on a king size sheet you like) and slip into the clips. You're done. The pulls will still work, pulling the fabric to the side when you want.

Wish I had found this post before I purchased new blinds! Beautiful ideal!

In my daughter's apartment, I took down the individual slats. We bundled them and put them in a closet. I bought pleated curtains and some basic curtain hooks. Stick the curtain hooks into the curtains, then hook them into the holes where the slats were. All she has to do is pull them open and closed like she did the blinds, but she has curtains. This is the easiest and cheapest way I've ever converted blinds to curtains!

Our slats are breaking on the holes where the slats were. If I put in a weighter, being a insulating drape, will they hold the weighty drapes?
