Tip: Thrift stores for supplies or use leftovers!

Two examples: found a Mercury glass ball and a bed riser at thrift store. Spray painted bed riser to match ball, glued together and had a gazing ball for raised garden bed; had leftover copper panels, cut to fit, and adhered with liquid nails to the fronts of kitchen cupboards for one-of-a-kind project. Use your imagination and see items in a new way.
