How do I cut glass subway tiles?
I just came home from our big box home center store. Of course, no one available to help or give advice. I have 3x6 glass subway tiles I want to install for a kitchen backsplash. I will be using a skilsaw to cut them as needed. I was going to buy a diamond blade but none of them said appropriate to use on glass … lots of other materials, tho! I did find some that said they could be used wet or dry and, obviously, I am going to use it dry. Is the diamond blade still the correct blade? And they came in 2 sizes … one was much smaller than the usual blade I keep in the skilsaw for cutting lumber.

You can purchase an inexpensive tile saw. I would highly recommend purchasing one. I got mine at Harbor Freight. My husband has a friend who purchase a blade for cutting tile to useon a regular saw.
I don't know if you can use a skilsaw to cut the tile. We always use a wet/dry tile saw and generally use wet.
You have to treat the surface first over oil base painted wood. If not the new coat of paint will peel.
I would use a diamond blade in a 4” angle grinder, as it’s much easier to control.
If you don’t own one, then consider buying a $79 wet tile saw as renting one costs more. One can also cut bricks, marble & even granite with it, as long as the blades are sharp and one doesn’t force the material to be cut too fast.
