    Hi Pam,

It depends on the type of counter you currently have and how solid it is. You must be able to make sure that it's completely stuck down and that any holes or cracks can be repaired. The other issue is that your sink should be removed before you put down a new counter because if you don't the sink will be lower than the new counter and water will probably get underneath. These are just general thoughts because we don't know what type of material you have on the counter or what type of type you want to use for the new one. If the existing counter is really in horrid shape, you might have to remove it and put in a new foundation for the new counter. Wishing you the best.

If you scuff old tile n clean it well should work but you would have to remove sink n add extra piping to accommodate the new counter height..

I REMOVED MY SINK AND PUT A NEW FORMED COUNTER TOP OVER MY OLD FLAT COUNTER TOP. IT LOOKED NICE BUT WIFE FOUND IT TOO HIGH.

There are new cheap updates for ugly counters. Look at the epoxy ones and the paint kit ones. Super cool!
