What is the most efficient way to remove old tile from the shower?

I need to redo my bathroom shower because I have discovered 3 tiles at the base of my shower that were loose causing a leak into my basement. The pattern on the tile is no longer available, and is not easy to match as it is a flower pattern. I'm probably going to remove all the tiles to replace with a shower insert. What is the best way to remove the tiles, while hopefully preserving the sheetrock?

You will have to remove all the tile on your shower floor. Use a hammer and chisel to break up the tiles. Be sure to leave a smooth on the shower floor so the new tiles will fit and be level and fell good to bare feet.
Hammer and chisel. be careful to not punch a hole in the wall.
