I send mine to the local animal shelter-they need to send medications to adoptive homes at times and they always need pill bottles. In the summer they need toilet paper rolls-the cardboard- to make dog and kitty treats and freeze. You might want to check around and see if they are needed in your area or if vets want the pill bottles

I use mine to store my beach glass so when I need white , green , blue or brown I can just grab it and it is all sorted out.
  • I have been collecting so many, since my mom lives with us and is on many medications. I have looked for ideas also. I am a teacher, and took some to school, to send a tooth home with students, that they lost during the school day. I wish I had more ideas. The latest ones are a pretty blue, with a white cap. A small emergency kit can be put together (band-aid, quarter, alcohol pad, safety pin) maybe for scouts and a stack of quarters can be put in one, that might come in handy (maybe in a vehicle), but I do like Diane's idea of sending them to an animal shelter if they can be put to good use...

Depending on size, toothpicks, q-tips, OTC meds, etc! Great for traveling or camping! If they seal tight you can put shampoo, conditioner, etc. small craft supplies for children, or they can collect items on outings and put in them! The pill bottles fit great in a pocket!

First, wash them out. Most pills are coated and the residue stays inside the container. I use them to store coins, buttons, needles and pins, anything else small. I have also used them to make rubber stamps. I cut out foam sheets and hot glue to the caps. Screw the caps back on the bottles and they make good holders for little hands.

Local EMS and Firefighter First Responders will use the larger ones. They can hold 1 pair of gloves, handy for pocket storage.

I upcycle wooden furniture. I pour some of the paint in the bottle and give it to the purchaser for small touch up jobs. Put the name of the piece on the outside label.

I use them to hold needles, buttons for baby projects, paint for small jobs, or waxed floss with a hole in the lid for dispensing.

I also use them to store my spices and small sewing items. I was actually thinking about drilling a hole in the bottom and stringing some lights to give an orange glow. Of course, I haven't figured out what to put on the other end. Still looks like a medicine bottle with no top! I am still thinking. If anybody else has ideas let me know. I got alot of bottles.

Our church uses them for Operation Christmas Child to hold sewing kits, fishing kits, screws, etc.
