I have chandelier crystals shown below on picture. I got it from my friend. They were removed from chandelier and replaced by colored ones. Any ideas where can I use them. Thank you.

I use them to hang along the bottom of valances and below the top seam of curtains . I also use them around my bedside lamps. They are wonderful to add a little pretty element to your home.

I decorated a Christmas tree for charity with over 2,000 antique chandelier prisms and crystals. White lights. No other ornaments were put on the tree . I connected many of the smaller ones together to make long, elegant ornaments. My inspiration was a Swarovski Christmas tree decorated in Europe and some White House trees decorated a few years ago.

A mobile? What about adding to your chandelier, even if it means drilling small holes? Hang from door knobs in place of tassels. Put on the ends of table runner. Put branches in vase and hang them from the branches.

They would look beautiful outdoors. String them with fishing wire in different lengths.Attach to a metal rod and then tie the rod so it hangs from a shepards hook or tree.

I made a "curtain" out of all the antique crystals I've collected. I just strung them on a tension rod, using many lengths of heavy duty fishing line, cut to just a tad longer than the window and about about an inch apart. I hung several crystals at various heights on each length of fishing line (or you can just use one length of line for each crystal, cut to varying lengths, to fill the entire window opening). When the light came through, the entire room was filled with rainbows. Unfortunately, the cats made me take it down eventually, as they kept chipping my crystals, but if you don't have cats, or have an inaccessible window, where privacy isn't a concern, this is lovely in the sunlight.

the most beautiful thing i've seen is stringing them as either windchims or from the spout of a pretty/antique/vinatge watering can so it looks like water flowing out

I like the idea of a curtain. Size them as you would like to see them hanging in multiple rows and perhaps hang them in your smallest window (fine gauge fishing line would work as an almost invisible hanging medium). You could perhaps 'pad them out' with beads, earring/necklace bling remnants, feathers etc. The options are endless... Love to see the finished project.

You can find a box of plastic crystals at Hobby Lobby. They look like glass. I made a hanging using a horseshoe, fine wire, the crystals, and beads strung in patterns.

  • Mikki Mikki on Jul 27, 2016
You could hang singly as suncatchers in windows or group them as a windchime type suncatcher, perhaps with a small pretty wire basket flipped to hang them from. You could also make a pretty faux rain catcher for your garden by hanging them together like a rain chain. You could also add butterfly or crocheted wings for adorable little fairy ornaments.

Jewelry! As long as they aren't gigantic, you can slip one on a chain for a necklace. The small ones can dangle as earrings. You can look up how to do a simple wire wrap on YouTube. PS, I make jewelry, so I could go crazy with these! Have fun!

My sister-in-law was given lamps that have 2 dozen long thin crystals around the top of the bases. She thought it made them look "junky". Knowing I love to make jewelry and anything that can be beaded, she offered them to me. Sure I'll take your junkie "real, shinny, beautiful crystals", thank you very much!!!! Anyway.....just last night I made pretty beaded shade pulls for my mother-in-law's new roller shades. I'm not sure how I'll connect them to the shades, but I'll figure something out! Good luck!

Consider attaching them to small chandeliers in your home. Or upcycling a plain light. Using jump rings and slimpins work wonders. Do not get rid of them. Unless of course you want to send them to me.

Also, use to dress up a cake plate for a centerpiece.

    Beautiful!

    1. They work well on a Victorian inspired/themed Christmas Tree.

    2. If you have a table runner w/ V-Shaped ends, you can hang them there.

    3. Hang from a nice hook or nice piece of yarn and hang on lamp switch.

    4. ANYWHERE you want to hang them for a little added bling around your home.

Use on ceiling fans as pulls to turn on lights and fans.

  • Sparkles Sparkles on Mar 13, 2018

Ceiling fans have chains that you pull to turn on lights and blades. They have a knob or something you pull to turn them on and off. Replace the part that is there with a crystal.

My mom had hundreds of these glass heavy teardrop shapes. I hung them outside on my solar lights. They were spaced in between the globe light bulbs. I added several to my outdoor metal bed bath edge. I love when the lights or sun hits the crystal teardrops.

I attach crystals to vintage brooches or ribbon for Christmas ornaments, also I attach them in frames to hang by fishing string for sun catchers, garlands. My pictures can be rotated. I still need to add the 2023 Swarovski snowflake.
