How can I upcycle gutters for garden use?

I have some down spouts (not the open gutters) that I want to use in garden. They are brown and about 12 feet long and I have 3 of them. Any creative ideas?

cut them into sections, paint silver or some other industrial color, hammered pewter maybe, and thread them through existing outdoor or coffee table legs....??

Planters for flowers/herbs, etc. on a fence or house......you will have to cap the ends, but they make useful planters.

Maybe paint them bright colors, decorate them with painted flowers, drill holes in them and make a drip system.

Cut several to different lengths. Bury the bottoms in the soil and cap off with planters small enough to fit in the end pieces. Use trailing vines like sweet potato in some or vinca.
