What to do with all of those large plastic kitty litter buckets?

I am accumulating quite a few of those large plastic buckets that kitty litter comes in and they seem too good to throw away and "should" have some other uses! Has anyone done anything constructive with them?

Nothing fancy from me, but we use them for storage for things in the garage for larger hardware items. One holds the tie downs for our trailer when we need to haul anything. Here's some ideas from the top of my head though.... 1. Lined up in the garage or mud room they'd be great for storing shoes if you're the type that doesn't allow shoes to be worn in the house. 2. In the pantry they'd be great for holding potatoes, onions and such. After a thorough washing of course.3. In a child's room for storing bulky toys, such as cars, dolls, stuffed toys or Legos. 4. In a craft room for storing scrap fabric or yarn. They could be sorted by color too.5. A small waste basket. You can spray paint them to look nicer. Not sure if the painted markings would come off with paint remover or acetone or not. It could be worth a try.

@360 Sod (Donna Dixson) Would not be hard to spray paint or contact paper those buckets before assembling & really cute it up.

I use them for cleaning supplies, a fast ladder for changing out light fixtures and cleaning fans. I carry rags in them. Use them as mop buckets, keep one in my car for trash. Carry one when I am picking up trash out side, carry in vegetables, putting weeds in them. Really sounds boring but I can go on and on. : )

I use them for storing things in, I also have been known to cute them, they make nice magazine holders, and if you cute the opposite end off you have a nice handle. GOD bless

I clean mine out, then store black oil sunflower seeds (for the birds), in them. Keeps the seeds dry and critters out!

My husband built a wall unit, floor to ceiling, of wood bars. The buckets fit in at a diagonal angle (Like supermarket bins) and store all my knitting yarn. Sorted into colours, the wall resembles a yarn shop. Useful and lovely to look at too. Unfortunately the litter I like best is Fresh Step and they stopped using buckets.
