You can cover the shoe boxes with paper or contact paper and then store dvd's in them. You can then label each box according to categories of video's.

Buy some beautiful wallpaper or scrapbook paper and modge podge it...then you have storage that is pretty. I use mine all over the house. I turned mine over and made a beautiful kleenex box cover for it. The slim shoebox.
Contact paper would work and then you can use them for storage in your pantry or under the sink or bedroom. Millions of uses.
