Upcycled Rubber Tire Pet Bed
Kimberley the closest I could come to what you wanted was a cat scratching post using a tire. http://petdiys.com/diy-tire-cat-scratcher/
Hi Kimberly, is this what you're looking for? It looks like they cut rounds out of plywood to cover the top and bottom of the tires. I couldn't find a tutorial on how exactly they did it though.
Looks fairly straight foreword, you could use one of those three legged side table tops if you have an old one, and cover the top, drill holes, bolt and nut to hold it on, brackets and a wooden shelve for a door protector drill holes again and bolt and nut them on, use a wooden round for the bottom of each tire as well and then it looks like a bracket to hold tires together to make a bunk bed type. put straw or hay inside so they stay warm. A heavy plastic round would work as well. The seats from old bar stools may be big enough depending on the size of the tire.
I have also been looking for directions to make this. Thanks for the info above from Sarah Billy. I was trying to figure out if there was wood between the tires but I think you are correct that there is. Thanks.
