Hi Bob. I'm Cindy. You can use old motor oil for a few household purposes like trying to loosen screws without stripping them or to put on squeaking hinges. Other than that, it needs to be disposed of properly. You'll either want to take it to an oil change facility that accepts oil. Or you can take it to a household waste recycling facility near you. Whichever option you choose, it's a good idea to call first to make sure that the facility will accept containers of used oil. Good luck Bob.
If you have access to YouTube, there is a video called "101 Uses for Motor Oil"...this should give you lots of ideas!
If it is old used motor oil, I wouldn't use it for anything. It would be like reusing your bath or dish water for drinking water.
