I use soda cans. After can is empty wash it. Take a pair of tin snips cut both ends off. Cut your pattern and put it together. Paint it before putting together. Use hot glue.
You can use salmon or tuna fish cans. Just cut the can down with good metal clippers....and then make petals the shape you want. The round metal base of the can gives the flowers a lot of stability since you just cut out the sides of the cans.
