Instead of photographs you can put favorite greeting cards in them. Or use them to designate seating for a diner party or holiday dinner. Put photographs of the individuals in them, place them where they are to sit.

The frames could also be secured together, painted a single color, then hung on the wall as an art piece. I hope this helps!
