If you do have excess pills and don't know how to get rid of them, you can take them to your local fire department. I had to do this a couple years ago.
If they fit in the bottles, they make good containers to hold tings, earrings and necklaces when you are traveling, or just a compact way to put them in your drawers. The uses are unlimited, if it fits, you can keep it in the bottle. Just make sure you remove the labels so you can see what is in it. You can label the cap as to what is in it.
