How to add faux grids to sliding glass doors?

I have really old sliding glass doors. Not looking to replace them right now. However I would love to add the look of grids in the glass panes. Does anyone have any ideas of how this can be done so that both sides of the glass really look like the glass has real grids. I would like the outside to look like a white grid not glue.

Hmmm...maybe you can use thin trim ( you need for the door to function ! )) cut it to size use & gorilla glue to stick together to make your grid , then paint it, or maybe paint it after cutting , but before Gluing . Then use tiny "o" hooks screwed into the top of the vertical pieces of the grid and use small suction cups to hang it ??? I don't know if this would , so I would only do 1 , if you really like it you might be able to use clear silicone to adhere it to the glass, but that might not look good from the other side .??? Also look for something else , a different material other than wood that is totally flat , it might be easier than wood and you wouldn't have to worry about the thickness... Good luck !!!
You could use white washi tape or thin white plumbers tape stuck directly to the glass. Mark out your grid pattern first, then carefully tape to keep lines level
