Are you referring to "Billco" doors, found on older homes? Are you in an area of heavy winds/storm damage?
Hi, use yellow pine and oil paint it. It will last a very long time. Yellow pine is a dense wood and can withstand the weather. Pressured treated wood is good, but can be heavy. Using oil paint will seal the wood even more. Good luck.
