Tissue Paper and Resin Stained Glass

Turn that 3rd grade art class technique into a beautiful permanent piece of stained glass for your home!

I grabbed some old windows at a garage sale and have been making them over with various faux stained glass techniques. This one used a tissue paper technique I learned in 3rd grade......but was able to make it permanent.

A thin coat of Glaze Coat resin and it's permanently protected!

Watch how I made it here!

I used dollar store tissue paper, an old window and Allure Dimensional Design Adhesive Paint to get the faux leading.

Suggested materials:
  • Glaze Coat (epoxy resin)   (Amazon)

Hi Mark, Your designs look fab! I have hand made glass already cut into shapes from a project I didn't finish so was wondering if I could apply your technique but using the glass pieces instead of tissue paper - what do you suggest? Deb

Was wondering if you put that in a window if the colors would fade from the sun over time?

I love your creative ideas and this one is super as I happen to have an old window. I can hardly wait to get the supplies. Oh by the way, I was an elementary teacher and we did lots of cool things with tissue. Cheers
