How can I make my very old large slats metal blinds look better

they are 1950's large metal slats with pull down rope painted white at the factory bu looking gray and old now

You need to clean the blinds first, maybe in the bathtub. Then you can spray paint them, cords and all, either matte or gloss, any color at all. They would become an attractive focal spot, or soften the color more by hanging sheers in front of them. Best wishes 😇 -

Hang on to them! Love the 50's blinds. I would spray paint them as Jewell suggests. -

Paint them! You can give them a stencil look. I saw that recently and it looked fantastic
