How do I change my ceramic tile window sills into framed wooden ones?

A picture would definitely help. Obviously, first thing to do is remove the tile/grout.
You should remove the tile and put down a nice wood sill which can be stained or painted.
You will have to remove the tile and this will be a messy job. But it can be done. When you remove the tiles you may need to do some repair work and then you can apply a wood window seal
Has anyone ever tried putting wood over ceramic tile? Instead of removing?
