How to enhance my window with much wider trim?

put some large decorative trim around it and paint the same color as the trim then add shutters

You Can Do This! Visit HD or Lowes for wood trim. A nice 1 x 4 board can be cut to size and tacked on easily. For the top, you could go larger with a 1 x 6 trim piece. Sometimes they have scraps you can have or purchase at a discount. Best of luck.

I have 4 inch wooden trim around my windows. I've seen it at the lumberyard and at Habitat for Humanity Restore too.

The suggestions above could also be embellished by adding a decorative square corner molding. You could also paint a faux border around the windows, too.

take a picture with your phone and measure top top across and the bottom and check homedepot in the lumber area they cut and they have all kinds of trim they are very helpful and smooth talk one day f the guys to doing a side job. I made cornices measure and he made all cuts and directed me to use all the right stuff I need and I was happy- you to can do this😀

Sure thing:) Your so welcome. The corner moldings come on various sizes and designs. They should be the same width as the trim that is being put around the windows (or doors). They come painted or unpainted and are often made of wood but not always. If you type in "corner molding blocks for windows and doors" into your internet search window (I use Google) and thrn select to view 'images' you should be able to pull up several design choses and where they can be purchased - Menard's Home Depot, Walmart, Wayfair and even Etsy (just to name a few) sell them. Sorry for reply, delay - thought I sent...Anyway, there are several wonderful styles of ornamental corner block mouldings and are available at local Home Depot, Lowes-type stores. They come in wood and other materials. They are usually just slightly larger than the width of trim work that you choose to surround the remainder of your window / doors. (same width and depth creates the dimensions of the square/corner). These square corner block mouldings often come unpainted (if wooden) or white but should be paintable to match trim. you can also try using actual ceramic tiles instead which will add a unique textural dimension as well. When searching the internet for ideas and where to buy, make sure you type "moulding square corner blocks" into your search bar. Best of Luck!
