You need a good miter saw and cut the pieces at a 45 degree angle. Then nail into place. If you want to go with a farmhouse look you can use 1x4 or 1x6 and not cut on an angle. Placing the board window length on each side first then adding top & bottom pieces the width of the window plus the 2 boards.
Usually they use via Lori aluminum to trim around windows

This is practically an art form, it's not as easy as it looks! Be sure to do some practice tests before cutting the real material and study up before attempting.
