magnetic board and chalk board

Question

Does anyone know if you paint a board with magnetic paint, then paint over it with chalk board paint if it will still be magnetic?

Speaking of magnetic paint, I have looked at various craft stores as well as home depot and lowes and I can't find Magnetic Spray paint anywhere. Does it actually exist?

Our little shop made custom chalk boards/magnetic boards. We used the Rust-0-leum brand. I found that the magnetic portion is strong enough to hold a magnetic button, BUT, not strong enough to hold a paper to the board. Just our experience. Maybe a different brand will give different results.

A lot of times the magnetic paint needs to be applied in multiple coats. It basically contains 'metal' and a 'critical mass' amount is needed before the magnets will stick.

Rustoleum Magnetic wall primer paint , you can do any color after the primer
