Lisa Battisti on Dec 16, 2015It is possible.....as long as you have at least one room at a time sealed off with plastic so the dust will stay out. Breathing in the dust is not cool.Helpful Reply

Marilyn Barris on Dec 16, 2015I am living in a remodel as we speak. Our entire house is being redone but it being an old house, you never know what you're going to find once you really get into it. Save yourself the headaches, if you can, by staying somewhere else. It may seem like an inconvenience but it's nothing like the inconvenience (to you AND your contractor) of trying to live in it at the same time. I would never do it this way again.Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Dec 16, 2015If the whole house is not being renovated at once I would say it would be fine, but if not I would not stay there with all the dust etc.Helpful Reply

Lagree Wyndham on Dec 16, 2015yes...that is how I was raised...at one time we did not have a working kitchen, refrigerator was in hall and we cooked on a 1 gas burner, 1 electric burner and a toaster oven for months...it can be done. Its like camping. Currently doing a whole house remodel...just minor upgrades..and one room at a time...the kitchen will be biggest pain to deal with. I would really like to see a pic of roof pool...sounds awesome.Helpful Reply

Suzann on Dec 16, 2015We had our kitchen completely gutted and renovated but the rest of the house was not touched. We put the refrigerator in the dining room and set up a "kitchen" in the dining room with two long tables that you could make with saw horses and plywood if you don't have a long table. We also bought two cheap 72" x 24" bookcases for storage of cooking and eating stuff. We covered the front of the bookcases with material to keep out dust. I set up a cooking area with an electric skillet and bought a two burner hot plate for cooking. We also had our counter top microwave. We also had a plastic tub for dirty dishes and then washed the dishes in the bathtub at the end of the day and then put everything away. Only two of us. It was very organized and I was able to cook full meals almost every day. This lasted for about three months and it wasn't horrible. I guess the worst part was washing in the bath tub but we had a set up where I would wash and pass it on to my husband and he would dry and put them away. I hope this helps.Helpful Reply
