What type of plants to put in a Container Rock Garden?

Douglas Hunt on Mar 26, 2013You are aiming to create a harmonious composition of rocks and plants in the bowl, Angela, so the size of the rocks really depends on how big your bowl is. Generally, you are looking for alpine plants for this type of garden, but succulents can make a beautiful rock bowl garden as well. Take a trip to a good local nursery and see what they have. Sweet Papaya Creative on Mar 26, 2013The container is a 12x12 square rustic metal deep dish/tray type thing. I want to place it on a outdoor table. We live in the Portland, OR area with some moisture I was going to put in a mixture of Small to med. size rocks. My main problem is what type of plant would you put in a rock garden? Any good articles out there?Helpful Reply
