Linda Amstutz on Jan 14, 2016take everything down off the wall, spray paint it in whatever color, metallic, or just a pretty color...paint everything. Then add decorative light bulbs instead of regular bulbs. I did this in a bathroom and it looks just like some I've seen in home improvements stores. I used a oil rubbed bronze color spray paint. I also did all the knobs and handles, and some older decor pieces. It all looks great.Helpful Reply

Kelley M on Jan 15, 2016You could use led bulbs and velum paper over it. Shape the velum in a 3 sided rectangle. The nice thing about velum is you can use pressure to put a design in the velum. You can change it at will and the light softens beautifully.Helpful Reply

CK on Jan 15, 2016I agree with MJ Julian above. If you cannot afford to replace it decorative bulbs may be your answer. However.... do keep your eyes open for close out and returned items at places like Lowe's and Home Depot. You may find that buying a new fixture is actually less than buying decorative bulbs...and you'll get an update too!Helpful Reply

Tracy Norr on Jan 15, 2016I have an old cover that would fit it. It's in my Goodwill box right now. Wish I could just give it to you.Helpful Reply

The Redesign Habit on Jan 15, 2016I too would check Home Depot and Lowe,s. They have a lot of bathroom light fixtures that are very inexpensive. May not cost you much more than using decorative bulbs.Helpful Reply

Donna on Jan 15, 2016I saw on Pinterest that someone had made a 'shade' for their vanity light. You might want to check that out.Helpful Reply

Beth H. Makemeprettyagain.blogspot on Jan 15, 2016those LED lights would be more expensive than a new fixture! Try Craigslist for a vanity light. People are always looking to sell them cheaply. Glass covers as well.Helpful Reply
