Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Mar 02, 2012Heck, my Daffys are about four inches tall by now. Nothing seems to kill them. I would not worry to much about them coming up. As far as the rhubarb, have no idea. But I believe its a pretty hardy plant as well.Helpful Reply

Douglas Hunt on Mar 03, 2012The freezing rain should not hurt your daffodils or rhubarb, Terri. I've seen daffodils blooming in snow many times. Things that come up early in the spring seem to have naturally built in defenses against the vicissitudes of weather.Helpful Reply

Terri J on Mar 03, 2012Thanks Doug, I just never remember my grandparents who lived in New York having rhubarb starting to grown this early in the year. I know they die over winter and sttart again come spring...but then again, there is a big diffference between here and upstate NY. The freezing rain may not hurt the plants, but is sure does bother me. (old b/4 my time( -lol).Helpful Reply
