I have an old lavender plant,how do I trim it,so it will come back

    ive had one before and I cut it too far back and it never grew again. now one was given to me that needs some tlc....help..i don't want to kill it.

    Darlene, you are really on the edge of the hardiness zone for lavender. Some winters it will probably make it through, but a tough one it probably won't. Plant in a dry, sunny spot and prune in the spring just before it leafs out. (I cut mine back pretty far when I was growing them in the Hudson Valley, so I doubt the issue was that you cut your back too much.)
