My Fresh New Blue Kitchen Reveal

I gave our kitchen a fresh new makeover by using lots of paint. I even painted the tile backsplash!
Just look at the Before and After! It went from dark and rustic to bright and fresh! Not that it was bad before, but it's now more of my own personal style.
Painting the wood range hood mount was a tough decision. I really loved the wood but it just felt too dark. Now that it's painted white, it opens up the room so much more now.
I love the contrast of the color on the walls against all of the white.

Normally I don't like a white kitchen but the choice of that blue color really sets it apart!

I love this kitchen...so much that I have decided to abandon the neutral greige color I was going to paint my walls (already have the paint) and be brave with the teal color used in your redo. My kitchen has the same floor plan and I have been struggling on how to make the space feel open without doing a demo. I especially like the brightness the color brings with the contrast of the white. I was fearful that a deep ( not dark) color would darken the space that is already suffering from darkness but your example has shown me otherwise. Thank you for the inspiration!
