Pure Vanilla Extract

Does anyone know if it's still good to use pure vanilla extract after it's one year expired. I bought a large bottle which is cheaper than a smaller one. It's still 80% full.

Actually if there is one on the jar it is a Best Use By date - some manufacturers slap down one year but 5 years is pretty standard - for more on expiration dates http://blog.sls-construction.com/2010/cleaning-out-organizing-the-pantry

I'm speaking about Pure Vanilla Extract, the good stuff that is quite spendy, unless you make it yourself, which I do. That? Doesn't go bad. ;) Just keep it in a dark, dry cool place. Actually, alcohol is used as a preservative, with almost never having an expiration date, vanilla extract no exception.
