Janet Pizaro on Apr 25, 2016It appears there is to much water on the leaves which will create the yellowing. When watering certain species water should not hit the leaves just the root system.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Apr 25, 2016Yellowing leaves on plants is typically a sign of overwatering. Yellow leaves can also be caused by heat stress, damage from fertilizer or lack of sunlight. Having water remain on leaves shouldn't cause them to change color but overwatering the plants can. Check the moisture of your soil before watering.Helpful Reply

Saskie on Apr 26, 2016That is 'Black Spot'. Spray with a solution of baking soda and water and a bit of dish soap before the spots appear. It is a fungal disease and some roses are more susceptible than others. Pick the fallen leaves and destroy them, do not water in the evening as the leaves don't have time to dry encouraging the spores to spread. There is also a rose dust for this if you want to use a chemical solution.Helpful Reply

Linda on Apr 26, 2016looks like blackspot. The variety of rose looks like it reverted back to rootstock, that's what they use to graft on other roses . When the graft dies or the rootstock is allowed to send shoots up it goes back to the original rose. most roses are grafted now days. I've had this happen to several of my roses. They still put out lots of flowers and are vigorous growers.Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Apr 26, 2016Many do not realize excess water on the leaves will cause damage to the plants. I think there is more than one situation going on with the bushes. My next suggestion for you is to use a systemic all in one for fungus, insects and mildew.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Apr 26, 2016Another option is to take your photos and an affected cutting from the rose bush directly to a reputable garden nursery (not the local flunky at the garden section of a home store) and ask their horticulturist for a diagnosis. We're all mostly arm chair gardeners. Best of luck with your roses!Helpful Reply

Gabrielle Falk on Apr 27, 2016The yellow leaf with the black markings, is black spot. It's best to not water the leaves. Make sure you are keeping up the feeding to the plant, because if plants are not fed and watered properly, they get 'distressed'.Helpful Reply

Caley's Culinaries on Apr 30, 2016BEAUTIFUL rose!! That a dying, yellow leaf is right next to a beautiful green leaf is the big clue! Yellow leaves is almost always a fertilizer deficiency, but on yours, it means too much standing water on the leaves, which promotes black spot fungus. Against that brick wall, it probably doesn't get much wind. Don't water in the afternoon or on cloudy days, only when the water will dry quickly, and avoid wetting the foliage. If that doesn't work, try the fungicide.Helpful Reply

Saskie on May 01, 2016If you look at the spots on the leaves, it is definitely Black Spot.. Roses are heavy feeders so not very likely too much fertilizer.Helpful Reply
