William on May 06, 2016Janet is correct! Basic plumbing the DIY can do. Rerouting involves building codes. This is a job for a professional. Strike up a deal to assist a plumber with the work for a discount.Helpful Reply

Johnchip on May 07, 2016There is a reason these pipes are buried. But with newer technologies, there may be better ways. But it is time to make a couple calls. Take your time. After 100 years, they aren't going anywhere.Helpful Reply

Jcrafty1s on May 07, 2016Talk to a plumber about installing PEX piping. It can be installed with the least amount of damage to the walls. Be sure that he obtains a building permit. This is for your protection. They will make sure that the plumber is licensed and that the work was done correctly.Helpful Reply
